Privacy policy

This policy covers all Front Porch Play games (including Grid Ritual and Hand and Foot) and the website frontporchplay.com. In short: we don't ask for your name, email or an account to play. Our games show ads, and the ad and analytics services we use in the games and on this website collect some device information, explained below.

What we don't collect

• We don't ask you to create an account or sign up.
• We don't collect your name, address, phone number or contacts.
• We don't use your location, camera, microphone or photos.
• We never see your payment details. Apple and Google handle all payments.

Information stored on your device

Your game progress, statistics, settings and house rules are saved on your phone or tablet. They stay there unless you choose to back up your device.

Ads (Google AdMob)

Our games are free because they show ads, using Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect your device's advertising identifier, IP address, device type and how you interact with ads.

• On iPhone and iPad, the game asks permission before ads can use your advertising identifier for tracking. If you say no, you still see ads, but they are not personalized.
• In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, the game asks for your consent before showing personalized ads. You can change your choice any time in the game's Settings.
• On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's settings under Google → Ads.

If you buy Remove ads, the game stops loading ads and AdMob no longer receives this information from it. Learn more in how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

Crash reports and usage statistics (Google Firebase)

We use Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics to find bugs and understand which features people use. They collect things like your device model, operating system version, app version, a random app installation ID, crash details and in-game events (for example, "finished a game"). This information is not linked to your name, and we use it only to improve our games.

Leaderboards (Game Center and Google Play Games)

If you choose to use leaderboards, your scores and your Game Center or Google Play Games nickname are shared with Apple or Google and shown to other players. You can play without signing in.

Purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple or Google. We receive only a confirmation that the purchase is valid so we can turn off ads. We don't receive your name or card details.

This website

frontporchplay.com has no ads and no sign-up forms. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful, for example which guides people read and how many people tap a "Download" button. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, how you found the site, your device and browser, and your approximate location (country or city). It does not tell us who you are, and we have turned off Google's advertising features and data sharing for this site.

• In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, Google Analytics stays off until you say yes in the cookie banner.
• Everywhere else, it is on by default. You can turn it off at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, or with Google's browser add-on.

Learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, also processes basic technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.

If you email us, we use your email address only to reply to you and delete the conversation when it is no longer needed.

We don't sell your information

We don't sell personal information. Our ad partner may use device information to show personalized ads, which some U.S. state laws treat as "sharing." You can turn this off at any time using the device settings above, or by emailing us.

Children

Our games are made for adults and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used our games and you want their information removed, contact us.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information is held about you, to have it deleted, or to object to its use. Because we don't hold accounts or names, most information lives on your device or with Google. Delete the game to remove local data, and use the ad settings above. For anything else, email us and we will help.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Important changes will also be mentioned in the games' update notes.
